My Positions

What I want to do on Coeur d'Alene City Council

  • Foremost I will be available and responsive to the views, needs, and desires of the citizens of Coeur d'Alene

Some of my other thoughts that I've been working through are as follows :

  • The growth, development and density should not impact the citizens of the community.  A plan for infrastructure should be in place to handle the increase in density and  population increase. For example lets work on getting our street lights updated to help with better traffic flow.
  • I would like to see discussion and solutions to work force housing. Restaurant, hotel, and grocery workers, mechanics, carpenters, retail workers, and hospital workers (including retirees who would like to downsize)  are being priced further and further out of the city. Not an easy problem to solve, what are your ideas and thoughts?
  • Our comprehensive plan should be clear on how we want our city to look and where we want our density to go. The property rights of those around large density increases should be considered as well.
  • Are we talking about our schools when we consider the increasing of density? Our citizens send their children to schools at capacity, are we considering that when we increase density?

Please let me hear your input. We as a community can come up with solutions!
